Silurian Era

Very beginnings of Upright Plants…443- 418 MYA

The Silurian saw the spread of early fish, the emergence of the jawed fish, a massive evolutionary step that led onto the development of predation. The first vascular plants (Cooksonia) were evident, the beginning of up- right growing land plants. There is evidence of the first land arthropods (invertebrates) in this time, an evolution from the marine invertebrates. The landmasses were placed predominately around the southern hemisphere.
