The Age of the Reptiles.... 250-205 million years ago

The onset of the Triassic, the polar caps completely disappeared and climate stabilised. Vegetation of the north became predominately seed bearing and conifers, the south dominated by Glossopteris developed in the south-replacing club mosses and horsetails of the Carboniferous. Reptiles gained evolutionary success through their ability to fertilise internally, dinosaurs sometimes as large as 40 meters.
