TWFineArt is pleased to be collaborating with James St on their cultural project RESORT! We will be launching the Chris Trueman exhibition - Alchemy in the Gallery on the 23rd of October and featuring art on the street by Melbourne based artist Briony Barr on the 24th.
RESORT is coming…
From October 23 to 25, James Street will transform into an urban vacation, hosting presentations and parties from sunrise to sunset.
Easton Pearson will be launching their Cruise ’14 Collection Show, and the street will come alive with a showcase of contemporary Queensland art-works curated by the IMA.
On Friday October 24, all of your favourite James Street retailers will be staying up past their bedtime during RESORT After Dark. The street will transform into a balmy party under the stars where you can enjoy pop-up shops, in-store exclusives, designer meet and greets, as well as exciting music and art experiences. It’s going to be one hell of a street party!
Stay tuned for the official program with events including discussions with international tastemakers, exciting in-store collaborations and events from the precincts most creative and innovative residents across fashion, design, art and global trends.
Mark it in your calendars ladies and gents, because RESORT is sure to become an essential fixture on the cultural calendar. We look forward to checking you in at RESORT.
We will be lounging pool side with our RESORT partners: Audi Centre Brisbane, MAC Cosmetics, Bank of Queensland, Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane Airport Corporation and Stylecraft.
Animata's # 27, 2009. Photo Print by Veronica Ibanez Romagnoli[/caption]
These gorgeous photographs remind us of the enormity of the landscape and our place within it. Focusing on the Animita, Ibanez captures the resting places of the dead. Not dissimilar to the sarcophagi of the Egyptians, the Animitas are homes for the souls of the departed. The Animitas are constructed from basic materials and are often adorned with offerings like flowers and gifts for the spirit. Each dwelling is prepared and maintained by the family and friends of the deceased. Set against the remarkable backdrop of the Chilean landscape, they are aesthetic marvels that defy scale.
The humble, miniature dwellings are scattered throughout the landscape, sometimes in the most unusual places - as if all alone in the world. Visit Veronica Ibanez Romagnoli's page in our SHOP to view her complete print portfolio.
